Paul Smith and Martin Margiela collaboration concept

My first post here won’t be about how I started or what my journey has been like—that story can wait for another time. Instead, in this post, I want to share an interesting collaboration concept I came up with.

Since 2015, I’ve been deeply interested in fashion and everything happening in the industry. But that’s a topic for another time 😉 Right now, let’s talk about the concept.

On one side, there’s Martin Margiela—one of the most brilliant designers to ever exist. I’ve even written about his story for the Fashion Federation, so feel free to check it out. On the other side, there’s another one of my favorite designers—Paul Smith.

One day, I thought—why not merge their styles and create a few pieces? The first was a suit that combined Maison Margiela’s deconstructivism with Paul Smith’s British sophistication. The first version looked like a half-finished blazer, with raw, torn lines and unexpected details that gave it a sense of incompleteness.

The second version was more graphic, with sharp asymmetry—one sleeve seemed to belong to a different jacket, while Paul Smith’s signature stripes subtly peeked through the lapels, hinting at a hidden energy within.

This isn’t just about playing with cuts—it’s about proving that classic fashion doesn’t have to be boring. Even the most structured silhouette can tell a unique story when given room for experimentation.

Next, I decided to rethink the trench coat. The classic top layer, made of semi-transparent organza, creates an illusion of the coat floating in the air, playing with light and shape. Inside, a perfect gabardine lining with Paul Smith’s signature stripes protects against rain while adding contrast and depth to the design.

This concept blends Margiela’s rebellious spirit with Paul Smith’s eccentric elegance, erasing the boundaries between classic and avant-garde. A style that speaks for itself—even on a rainy day.

Of course, this was generated with AI, but I’m currently studying Clo 3D, and who knows—maybe a real collection in this style will come to life soon.
